Summary/Abstract: Property represents a relationship between people, a social contract concerning material, spiritual or any other type of asset, existing in society or acquired by economic activity. Property expresses relationships governed by social norms, historically determined, specific to different historical periods. Actual social realities, personality’s concrete manifestation into social irrespective of the causes which ensures their existence, traditions, informal reports, coercive mechanisms etc., are all important when property is characterized. The present paper aims to analyze the concept of ownership in its multidimensionality, as, especially in democratic countries, the complex issue of property generated long scientific debate, and as a result, the general theory of property has experienced remarcable growth.
