Summary/Abstract: Science is an inevitable part of our lives. It influences every aspect of the functioning of our society and develops in tight connection with life and progress. Some scientists say that their work wouldn´t be as important if people didn´t know anything about it and see science communication through the mass media channels as a possibility for further growth, development and wider impact – hand in hand with the public. On the other hand, others fear possible negative consequences of science communication and popularization. On these pages we will attempt to lay the theoretical foundations for a further research of this popularization paradox.
