Summary/Abstract: Józef Ignacy Kraszewski is certainly one of the most famous Polish writer migrants of the 19th centu-ry, who spent a long time in Dresden. Initially Kraszewski wanted to travel directly to Paris, but he de-cided to make a stop in Dresden. This stay planned by him as temporary lasted 21 years. The majority of his most important works was published in Dresden. In one of the houses, where he spent most of his life, in 1960 the Kraszewski Museum was founded. Its existence is protected, as it has been financed by the Polish Government since 2012.
