Summary/Abstract: Beginning in 2004 and continuing in 2005, 2011, 2015, 2016, Europe is increasingly confronted with terrorist attacks. Either successfully carried, or prevented by security forces, they overshadow everyday life of Europeans, accustomed to living in open societies based on respect for human rights and freedoms. The terrorist threat has become more real and constant, requiring new approaches to efficiently combat it.
