The Usage of Popular Music Culture in the Frame of School Aesthetic Subjects.

Summary/Abstract: The author actualizes an educational problem of using music of popular genres of the 20th century in the frame of school aesthetic subjects, first of all Music Studies and World Culture Studies. The article contains the definition of the conception “popular music culture”. An experimental elective course “Popular music genres of the 20th century” is offered, basic directions of involving the examples of popular music culture into the educational process are considered, didactic principles of using popular music culture are formulated, methods of involving music of different genres into the process of education are presented.
