Summary/Abstract: Despite the fact that the conditions of communication have been changing over the time and that the technological development has been influencing the manner of communication, the primordial need of man to non-verbally communicate has spurred him on to adjust to the new circumstances, to remodel them in different ways and to give them a fresh look. He undoubtedly still succeeds in integrating them to a certain extent with nonverbal symbols, all the while rounding up his message under the new media circumstances. In each kind of Internet communication, be it e-mail, on-line chat, MSN, ICQ, Facebook, My Space, video conference or virtual world, the signs of nonverbal communication occur in different forms and to a varying extent. The fact that the social relations and interactions have the same attributes in both virtual and real world enables scientists to study social interactions utilizing virtual platforms. Even though modern technology has been constantly improving, it is still fraught with shortcomings that pose a certain barrier in conveying a vast amount of nonverbal symbols during the process of communication.
