Summary/Abstract: Literary arts are the expression tacts which are used to establish connection of meaning, enrich the manner of telling, and mean a lot with limited words. Literary arts (figure of speech) used in daily language by intentionally or unintentionally include listening, speaking, reading and writing skills because of their forming the basis of comprehension skill. They develop metacognitive skills of students which are establishing metonymy, establishing cause and effect relationship, comparing, interpreting, predicting and evaluating and etc. In this Research, the place and importance of simile, metaphor, metonymy, antithesis, allegory and hyperbolism , which are used in daily language as literary arts, in the field of teaching Turkish to foreigners. The explanation is done and exapmples from the daily language are presented about these literary arts. While the place of the literary arts are being located, A. U. TOMER The Program of Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language is based on and achievements about literary arts taking place at the A. U. TOMER The Program of Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language are presented Transferring the materials by improving them which are suitable for class environment and containing language and text studies about literary arts which get a place as a ready material in the structure of language is suggested
