Summary/Abstract: Processes of globalization of culture are leading toward accommodation, modification of existing culture and cultural patterns, and also to gradual acceptance of cultural values in accordance with liberal democracy and market economy. In their regard to explanations of globalization processes, researchers of cultural globalization are dividing in four main groups: those who are noticing “homogenization of culture” in cultural globalization, “prospect of saturation”, “peripheral corruption” and “prospect of global localization” (glocalization) as cultural hybridization. The paper deals with different views of results of glocalization as “interaction of global and local” in its relation with identity questions, and tries to identify problems and possible results by examining connections between individual identity and cultural identity of local cultures in regard to global influences.
