Montenegrin nationality in a duality of identity before and after the World War II

Summary/Abstract: The author of the text presents the problem of self-identification of the inhabitants of this area, which is very important from the perspective of the borderline population. On the basis of the Montenegrin nationality in the 20th century, he shows the difficulties of the inhabitants in defining their own nationality (the Montenegrin or the Montenegrin-Serbian). The author describes the factors causing such a state of affairs (the nativeness of the origin, the language used, religion) and tries to show their influence on the choices of national identity made by people.
