Summary/Abstract: The author of the text deals with the issue of Jews originating from Poland (including a part of Upper Silesia before 1939) who avoided the Holocaust after the World War II and decided to live in the territory of the American occupation zone of the former Third Reich. He describes thecircumstances of migration, shows their status in a new place of living, and, finally, defines shaping of their elites in Bavaria. Using biographic studies, he tries to prove the hypothesis that people growing up at theborderline (in this case a Silesian voivodship from the interwar period) obtained special predispositions and competences that predestined them to fulfill the role of new elités.
