Summary/Abstract: The author of the article presents a profile of Zygmunt Żurawski, one of the most prominent political figures in the latest history of Cieszyn Silesia (a Silesian voivod among others). He concentrates on among others a presentation of Żurawski’s achievements in Cieszyn Silesia (especially on sorting out administrative issues after work of Rada Narodowa Księstwa Cieszyńskiego, Międzynarodowa Komisja Plebiscytowa and Polski Główny Komitet Plebiscytowy in the region between 1918 and 1920. Also, he pays attention to a political talent and big flexibility of a politician, which allowed him as a government commissioner to actively participate in the preparation of the staff for a Silesian voivodship to be, and, then fulfill the role of a vice voivod.
