Summary/Abstract: In the first part of the text the author analyses the modernistic myth on the self-reproduction of Modernism which turns everything into the element of its own dynamics. The principal statement that every attempt to surpass Modernism is illusory and futile is being questioned, because al critical and self-critical denial is included in the totalising drive of the self-formation of Modernism, The second part of the text shows how only with Nietzsche our image of Modernism was entirely altered. As a perfect diagnostician of the pathology of Modernism, Nietzsche was the first to renounce the restored revision of the notion of mind, rejecting the Enlightenment dialectics itself. Nietzsche’s anticipation of the »advancing decay of Modernism« was developed to the extreme only by the posmodernists.
