Summary/Abstract: In order to teach professionally, a teacher must be equipped with all necessary methods and techniques. In recent years, in many schools and branches and also in foreign language classes the importance of “drama techniques” is emphasized. In this study, from the point of what teachers and teacher candidates should know is not only what the education techniques are, but also the way of effective use of these techniques with their functions and importance; their awareness levels about the ‘drama techniques’ has been researched. Universe of this survey consists of 67 teacher candidates from Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Education Faculty, Foreign Language Education Field and 10 teachers teaching in several schools in Istanbul. Data have been collected through two different questionnaires prepared for teachers and teacher candidates. Analysis was done on SPSS 15.0 program. Research has been developed in survey method.
