How Russian philology students perceive the translator’s work as compared to other modern philologies

Summary/Abstract: The following article presents the results of a study conducted on 62 students of Russian Philologies and 284 students of other modern philologies from nine Polish universities. The aim it was undertaken with was to show potential differences in the way these two groups perceive the work of a translator, resulting from the special profi le of Russian Studies in Poland. The analysis of surveys, however, showed little or no major differences in the visions of the translator’s work in the two groups.
