Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses the selected works by Mikhail Arstybashev in the context ofthe naturalist vision of a human being and the motif of crime. Arstybashev perceives civilization as a destructive force inflicting harm upon human beings and inciting their worst instincts. As he believes, only living according to nature makes it possible to achieve serenity.
