Summary/Abstract: The problem of geopolitical uncertainty alongside the region defined by the Black Sea, the Dniester River, the Baltic Sea, the Oder River and the Danube, more commonly known as Central Europe has been a part of the European political agenda for well over 100 years. Recent changes in geopolitics have seen several interest groups forming, extending from the south-eastern region of the Baltic Sea, down to the western coast of the Black Sea. Most of the states that come from this region are NATO and EU Member States, making it easier to group them together on a geopolitical and strategical common ground as well as their approach towards state security in relation to the eastern borders. The article at hand takes a look at this region’s geopolitics in order to understand the impact on EU Member States.
