Summary/Abstract: After Association Agreement including Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area and visa liberalisation with Georgia entered into force, this paper will discuss how this process of approximation is reflected in recent research about Georgia and the EU. It will set out from a broader concept of “Europeanisation” applied to Georgia mainly in qualitative discourse analysis to the recent developments expressed in quantitative surveys as Caucasus Barometer and EU perception studies. In the end it will discuss the paradoxes of the mismatch of high expectations, on the one hand, and little knowledge about the EU, on the other hand, and make some suggestions for further research.
