Methods of Contrastive Textology: Linguistic and Intercultural Comparison

Summary/Abstract: The paper starts with a short description of types of comparison in traditional linguistics. Some examples demonstrate linguistic on the lexical, phraseological and syntactical level. On the textual level, linguistic and intercultural contrasts are shown concerning terms of personal address in French, English, German and Japanese. Even more cultural differences can be analyzed within a culinary product from Denmark presenting quite different recipes for English, German and French cooks.
