Summary/Abstract: Glottocodematics constitutes one of the more recent theories of learning foreign languages. It approaches the process of learning a given foreign language as a complex and specific phenomenon consisting of three fundamental processes: (1) the process of decoding audio or visual foreign-language signals and information, (2) the process of encoding decoded foreign-language informationstructures in the form of appropriate structure-matrices, and (3) the process of coding foreign-language information. Each of those processes is characterized by a different course and by specific properties on the intra-individual level in the receiver/sender. Describing the process of coding foreign language information, the author of this paper also refers to the pre-linguistic process that takes place in the sender’s mental sphere. Here, the general informational-communicative intention is formed, which is subsequently realized in the sender’s language management device and in his/her specific effectors.
