Summary/Abstract: Mythformation is a distinctive feature of works by Andrey Bielyi. The writer not only discovered the myths once again, but created the new myths based on the old ones. The author of the article makes an attempt to analyze the myth of Petersburg, in the relationshop to the myth of the founder of the city — Peter I, who is presented in the novel as an Antichrist.
