The Theme of Curing the Blind in the Bible and its Reflections in Fine Art

Summary/Abstract: In the development of history, religion and art not only interacted but penetrated into each other, linking and merging together and combining original phenomena of the history of culture. One or another work couldn't be considered a piece of religious art only because its theme was taken from the books on religion. In European art there are many works of painting and sculpture showing different pieces from the Bible or its personages. The article systemizes and analyzes the theme of curing the blind in the Bible and in visual art taking into consideration its sociological aspect and leaving aside the problems of art critique.
