Summary/Abstract: The goal of the article is to explore the differentiation of the situation of women and men on the labour market depending on the place of residence in Poland in the years 2003-2016. The ground of the analysis are such measures of labour market as: economic activity, employment and unemployment rates. The structure is as follows. Each of the three following parts contains a reflection on the situation of women and men according to the place of residence in the facet of: economic activity, employment and unemployment, as well as gender inequality in these areas. To evaluate the scope of gender inequality the indicators were used in the sphere of economic activity, employment and unemployment. At the end conclusion was presented.
