CĂRĂMIZILE ŞTAMPILATE DIN COLECŢIA FEHÉR
STAMPED BRICKS FROM FEHÉR’S COLLECTION

Summary/Abstract: The collection includes 14 kinds of stamps printed on rectangular bricks of the same type. Half of them are simple, with the legion’s name in abbreviate form: G, GE, and GEM. At the other half, the anthroponyms cannot be completed because of the laconic abbreviation. On a stamp, the abbreviation of the legion’s name is missing. The structure of stamps is very similar to that identified on some bricks from Vindobona. The using of the same instrumentum (negative-stamp) on bricks founded in these two consecutive residences of the XIIIth Gemina legion indicates the activity of the same brick-makers both at Vindobona and Apulum, at the very beginnig of the Carpathian province.
