Summary/Abstract: The present paper deals with the issues raised by the finding of a distinct occupation level belonging to the Transylvanian Middle Bronze Age, the Wietenberg culture respectively, within the archaeological site from Şeuşa-La Cărarea Morii. Following the administrative-geographical location of the discovery (fig. I) and the description of the research, respectively the finding contexts (fig. II), we described, in detail, the prevailing archaeological material: pottery (fig. III-XIV). Thus, the interpreting and cultural-chronological assigning of the Bronze Age occupation became possible. On the basis of the analogies grasped regarding several sites from the close neighbourhood (CiugudÎntre Potece, Lancrăm-Glod, Ţelna, Sebeş, Cetea) or further located (Suatu-Fânaţele de jos etc.), we suggested that the Bronze Age occupation from Şeuşa-La Cărarea Morii belongs to the early phases of the Wietenberg culture (phase II), according to its “traditional” periodisation system. On the other hand, in the actual context of the recent debates over the periodisation (as a matter of fact, “re-periodisation”) of this culture, we do not exclude the fact that this settlement could belong to the end of the first phase (I) of evolution of the Wietenberg culture. The traces of the human occupation were discovered in an area having a surface of approximately 2.800 m2; given its dimensions, this settlement is typical for the Wietenberg culture. Further researches shall reveal the more precise position of the Wietenberg discoveries from Şeuşa - La Cărarea Morii, both from a cultural-chronological point of view and from the habitation type perspective.
