Financial situation and the welfare of people aged 60+ and in cross – regional specificity

Summary/Abstract: Due to the ongoing demographic changes towards an aging population, the situation of the elderly gains particular significance. The economic and social consequences of the projected transformations, forced to reflect on the economic rationale of life of these people. It can be assumed that greater life satisfaction turns into greater economic activity in the society. This,in turn, from the point of view of the economy is of great importance. In this paper, life satisfaction will be analyzed in relation to financial aspects affecting the welfare of people aged 60+. The analysis will focus on the aspect concerning the situation of people aged 60+ in Poland and will be based on data from the Social Diagnosis, the Central Statistical Office and Social Insurance Institution.
