Summary/Abstract: The article proposes an overview of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 34/2014 on consumer rights in contracts with professionals. The Ordinance presents specific aspects taking into account that the transposition of the directive into national law (Directive 2011/82/EU on consumer rights) should have been accomplished by the end of 2013, the Ordinance being adopted ”forced”, six months later, under the imminent initiation of the infrigement procedure against Romania by the European Commission for failing to implement in the domestic law the directive’s provisions.
