Summary/Abstract: Quantitative researches which are conducted in Poland and all over the world use techniques varied in terms of technological and communication conditions of realization. Scientific efforts which have been made by sociologists suggest that the differential communication conditioning of measurement may prejudge of nonequivalence, higher or lower level of reliability of gathered data. The paper analyzes three standardized research techniques: the personal standardized interview, the telephone interview and the auditorium survey. The article, partly by synthesis of empirical studies’ results, makes a description of quantitative research methods in the context of the theory of communication.
