Summary/Abstract: Vocational education is both an integral and autonomic part of the socio-economic system. Thus, the expectations and requirements of the labor market ought to be an important indicator for this kind of education. The basic task of vocational education is to prepare for the employment in the modern, often unstable and “fickle” but also changeable and unpredictable labor market. As it is true what A. Giddens writes, that the future of the majority of people will directly depend on their being successful in their professional lives. Their success, in turn, depends on the qualifications and competences they present. Vocational education is the way leading to them. This is why one should consider its orientation towards the labor market.
