Benefits from applying the RFID technology at the library of the higher education institution

Summary/Abstract: In the study the authors made an appraisal of the RFID system used at the library of the chosen college. Students higher assessed this system of borrowing from the standard system. Largely they didn’t meet the problems associated with the new way of lending, have more often also visited the institution. Positions were the best functionalities of the library for independent lending and machine for independent returns of books. Breakdowns of positions were biggest problems for lending and too frequent alerts of turnstiles, being located at exits from the library. They are main threats: the low safety of tags, in particular the clarity of data included in reading out and changing there and transfer operations of indicated carriers with tags without the reaction of protective goals.
