Summary/Abstract: Analyzing contemporary literature, we find the phenomenon – a learning organization. A modern school is also a learning organization; however, this conception is more a vision than a reality. Now we can observe only processes, which point to tendencies of forming a learning organization. Some aspects, which are often mentioned in the conception of a learning organization, are missing: incentives for members of the learning process, alternation, perfection and learning as a spontaneous worth of the learning organization. The research showed that in a nowadays comprehensive school the most observed features of a learning organization are: policy of formation involving all members of the organization, organization of control and accountancy beneficial for learning and the structure of a flexible organization. The least observed features according to the respondents are a flexible remuneration system and learning among organizations. However, the respondents’ attitude assessing features of a learning organization in a nowadays school and some attributes allow us to think about the implementation of ideas or models of a learning organization in a nowadays school in Lithuania.
