ARCHIVING IN BANKS

Summary/Abstract: Social changes and the need for adjusting to new market conditions have been significantly reflected on the efficient functionning of banks, since the essence of modern banking acitivity is the speed of providing with banking services, and quick and simple approach to data for every bank's beneficiary. New technologies and new bearers of information give the possibility for application of modern archiving and handling with register material. They are manifested in modern banking system, mostly based on electronic data processing, thus creating the possibility of substitution the classical system of archiving. However, application of new modern ways of archiving depends to a great extent on economic state of banks as well as on an obligation to fitt into international standards in this area. Besides, majority of experts in this field still have numerous dilemmas in terms of possibilities of new technologies to answer some specific inquiries when it comes to the authencity and credibility of documents. Therefore, it is necessary to build a proper system which would provoke more successful and universal care for registry work in banks by joint efforts of the archival profession and all banking and financing institutions in the country.
