C4ISR CAPABILITIES OF NATO EUROPEAN STATES' ARMED FORCES. THE INTRA-EUROPEAN AND TRANSATLANTIC SYSTEMS' INTEROPERABILITY

Summary/Abstract: The article briefly presents the complex issue of defence resources in the NATO and EU (EDA) Member States' and the negative consequences of the lack of financing in some NATOand EU armed forces of some European countries, among which Romania is present.The author appreciates that there are major consequences registered also over the C4ISR systems development and implementation, their interoperability, inclusively over their transatlantic dimension (USA-Europe). The quoted study „Bridging the Gap. European C4ISR Capabilities and Transatlantic Interoperability” expresses the justified worry of its authors related to the deepening gaps in the field of informational systems between the USA and Europe and the unsatisfactory fulfillment of operational and technical interoperability.I n the end, there are presented few aspects over the situation in Romania and the unfortunate consequences over a reasonable and credible defence capacity.
