Summary/Abstract: This article explores the influence of the director Krzysztof Warlikowski's rehearsal processes for acting in contemporary Polish theatre, with a particular focus on the subtle shifts this work has brought about in acting practice in institutional and repertory theatres. It considers distinctive characteristics in the performances of several of Warlikowski's key collaborators who continue to work with him at the Nowy Teatr, and places their styles of acting within a contemporary discursive lineage that includes Polish Critical Art of the 1990s and theorists such as Butler and Foucault.
