Summary/Abstract: Setting as starting milestones the end of Cold War and NATO transformation following the need to adapt to geopolitical realities of the XXIst century, this paper approaches the security concept in close relation with the sustainable development, emphasizing the necessary relationship between the political and military bodies and political and administrative bodies both at administrative units level and at national, regional and international levels.
