Summary/Abstract: Main aim of the paper is the investigation of the determinants of academics’ appointment to supervisory boards of Polish listed companies. The research sample consisted of all Polish companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange at the end of 2015 and employed 414 observations. Logit regression analysis showed that the presence of academics on supervisory boards is affected by managerial ownership, state ownership and supervisory board size, but negatively by firm size. Moreover, the academics are more frequently appointed to the supervisory boards of the Polish banks than other companies.
