Summary/Abstract: The causes of the World War I beginning were numerous and complex and firstly the acute contradictions between the global great powers which were fighting forredividing the influence spheres and for conquering colonies and other territories. In this paper, the authors present shortly the causes of the World War I, the armed forces, the military conflictevolution, the losses and consequence, Romania′s participation at the World War I.
