Summary/Abstract: The existence of middle class in the post-communist societies is determined by a group of processes of economic, occupational and social nature. All these factors are leading toward the construction of a social structure characterized by specific models of social stratification. The pattern of middle class in former socialist countries is set bt two elements: one, a general element of the modern society linked by the profesionalization of work; second-the nature of changes in the ownership right rules, the adaptation of the market economy and the development of entrepreneurship.
