The Problem of Extracting Subdisciplines of Sociology. Scientific Status of Maritime Sociology

Summary/Abstract: One of the most interesting methodological problems of empirical science is the one how to classify specific disciplines and justify the necessity of their existence. In this article the author presents the different strategies of distinguishing sociological subdisciplines. These considerations will constitute the starting point for determining the current status of maritime sociology as a separate scientific discipline.
