Portrait of child poverty

Summary/Abstract: In the frame of Health Impact Assessment we have prepared a portrait, which shows the main characteristics of the reproduction of poverty among families with children. A rich research tradition focuses on the different aspects of the poverty such as income poverty, non-monetary indicators of deprivation. All of these fields of poverty are represented in the portrait, meanwhile we have concentrated on the better understanding the causes of reproduction of poverty. In our study we present the effects of demographic characteristics, educational attainment and labour force activity on different aspects of poverty.The aim of our paper is to reveal the principle causes of poverty among the families with children, to investigate how the lack of resources leads to the income poverty and deprivation.
