Summary/Abstract: If the history of the last century was marked by violence, terror and lack of human solidarity, Marin Preda is deeply interested in the individual destiny. He considers that, as a writer, he belongs to his time and that his duty is to assume the responsibility of the human condition in history. All his characters fight against the vicissitudes of their time. Love, one of the most privileged topics in his novels, becomes a way of perfecting the human being and a possibility to lucidly and impartially explore this individual time.
