State failure and the macroeconomic situation – statistical analysis

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present and analyze the macroeconomic situation of the failed states. The review of the literature in terms of definition of the state as an authority which is responsible for widely understood economic policy has been done here. The role of the institution referring to achieving economic growth was also presented in the article. Subsequently there have been presented selected measures and classification of the failed states.The study was done on the selected variables such as GDP per capita, unemployment rate and the inflation in the years 1990–2013. The statistical analysis of the average levels of described variables showed the differences between the failed states and the sustainable states.
