Summary/Abstract: The world of finance, along with its participants, is constantly exposed to high deviations. The year 2008 was a year when the crisis in Europe was revealed. The crisis started in the United States, and soon after started to affect global economy. Less than five years later the conflict in Ukraine began, which caused disruption in the capital market. In the face of future macroeconomic shocks, which are more than likely, investors, board members, supervisory board should have in mind how relationships are formed between the stakeholders of companies of which they are associated with. Studies have shown that the quality of corporate governance can have a significant impact on the efficiency of the entire enterprise. Therefore, at a time when macroeconomic external factors act to weaken the overall financial situation of the company, greater attention should be paid to corporate governance. Poland followed the example of countries with more mature capital markets by introducing, in 2003, a code of best practice for public companies regulating aspects of corporate governance.
