Summary/Abstract: The article aims at the perception of Sudeten Germans from the region of Šumperk on events in Czechoslovakia after their displacement. The basic source of research is Sudeten-German newspaper Mein Heimatbote kept by the institute Collegium Carolinum in Munich. After the displacement, the region of Šumperk has significantly change its character. Just these views of Sudeten Germans on events in their former home were strongly present in articles of newspaper Mein Heimantbote, which has been published by the compatriotic association of displaced Germans from the region of Šumperk in Frankfurt am Main since 1940s. The crucial topic were memories of involuntary displacement that was completely denounced by Sudeten Germans. In the context of ideas about political development in Czechoslovakia, there may be also found anti-Communist opinions. Moreover, the interest was focused on activities in the region of Šumperk and life as well as economic level of the Czechoslovak Republic/ Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
