Summary/Abstract: This text provides a review of the oeuvre of contemporary Macedonian poet Ljupco Stojmenski (1931-2007), focusing on his profile and poetry in their historical context. It indicates the dominant motifs in the author’s work, unbreakably connected to his intimate circle, family memory in terms of the war trauma and the region of the town of Shtip, its places of memory, customs, and culture. Strongly emphasized is the question of identity, expressed through the attention the poet gives to the Macedonian folk tradition and the nurturing of the Macedonian language.
