The impact of bankruptcy costs on profitability of an economic entity

Summary/Abstract: Continuation of an activity does not exclude the existence of serious threats. In the article there are discussed the issues concerning the classification of symptomatic costs, searching for the limit after which exceeding these costs will affect the threat of activity continuation and much earlier could inform about the major difficulties and disruptions to business operations. The classification of symptomatic costs has been done. A group of entities has been surveyed determining whether and what impact these costs have on the profitability of business and if they are important.
