Summary/Abstract: This paper is based on the analysis proposed by Mattei Dogan concerning the behaviour of political leaders in crises situations. The content is focused on definition, causes and types of political conflicts. The article proposes this overview on political conflict in order to understand better how the success of specific political behaviour was responsible for the avoidance of civil war in May 1968 in France.
