Summary/Abstract: This article deals with the fiqh of Muslim minorities living within the territory of Germany. European Council for Fatwas and Research (ECFR), working in Europe since 1997, is closely related to the fiqh of Muslim minorities. What are the aspects and main traits of the fiqh of Muslim minorities in Germany, to what extent are the fatwas issued by ECFR acknowledged, how is the Council perceived by the German intellectuals and the media and what is the actual domain of the authority of the Council are only some of the questions that this article attempts to answer. In the year 2016, ECFR formed the commission for fatwas and organised a number of academic forums and seminars with the aim to reconcile differing views concerning some fiqh issues such as the beginning of the month of Ramadan and so on.
