Summary/Abstract: The article deals with mentoring in historical aspect, the origin of the concept itself, its application in life. We are familiar with mentoring at school, according to the new public education law. A good practice of mentoring has been presented in 51. Secondary School among colleagues: a mentor was a mathematics teacher with 30 years of experience and a mentee was a young colleague in physics without teacher’s experience. As a result of their effective collaboration, the mentee is firmly focused on the teaching profession, remains in the same school, and of course, his mentor is fully satisfied with his development.
