Summary/Abstract: The article refers to the results of the research presented in the book Capitalism in Polish. Between modernization and the periphery of the European Union with reference to the political situation in Poland after elections in 2015. It explains the reasons for using the perspective of diversity of capitalism to political transformation in postsocialist countries, the theoretical starting point and neoliberal variant of dependent capitalism, as well as the populist-conservative political turn in Central Europe and its aftermath in Poland.
