Summary/Abstract: When President Roosevelt once designated Persia as a highly backward country, which is also difficult to help, he was doubtless justified. And there has been no noticeable progress in Persia since then. Today, however, in the summer and autumn of 1951, the Persian government has contributed to the worsening of the global crises by the nationalization of the large, foreign-owned oil industry. It is a staggering joke of history - about which, if the situation were not so serious, it would be a good laugh - that this expropriation measure was not undertaken by a revolutionary Marxist government, but by one of the few still feudalist regimes which Into the modern era.
